On The Road
Got an early start.
We were on the road by 8:00. A.m.
Found a coffee shop while near the Guggenheim.
Then took off again crossing over to the east side of the Ria Bilbao.
Lots of shade as we were walking, which was good as in the sun it was hot.
We were using Gronze and the Buen Camino guides.
Both indicated that the much more scenic route was to the South, but it was also about 3 mi longer.
Both also indicated that the two alternate routes for a much more urbanized.
Our route turned out to be so, but there was a Riverwalk pretty much the entire way with only some minimal blockages for construction.
I personally could recommend the Eastern route for pilgrims.
Random Thought of the Day
Even though it was a light day, so to speak, by the time we checked into the albergue and did laundry and stuff, it was after 3:00 and I was hungry.
Correcting for that tomorrow with a shopping run for a lunchtime meal of cold cuts and cheese, yogurt and a banana.
Meaningful Moment / Notable Memories
Deb and I riding to the top of the Zubia bridge and looking way out over the Ria Bilboa estuary, Portugeleta, Getxa and the ocean.
