On The Road

7:00 a.m. Up and at'em.
8:00 a.m. Host gives us ride to Soto de Barco. We grab a  morning coffee.
8:45 a.m. On the way.

10:25 a.m. Quick orange juice break in Muro de Nalón
10:45 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Nice long walk in a primeval forest. Extremely tall trees, providing a leafy covering of vegetation over our heads as we walk down a dirt and stone trail.

12:00 p.m. Taking the detour to Cudillero as recommended by Alberto, our host last night.

1:00 p.m. Leaving Cudillero.
Must say I'm a little disappointed because the description was a picturesque little town, but it really seemed much more a tourist spot.
Plus it was a really long and steep descent into the town, followed by a pretty steep ascent out of the town, although less problematic than going in.

1:45 p.m. Back on the Camino
2:15 p.m. Energy break and pit stop

4:30 p.m. Arrived at the albergue La Reguera.

Random Thought of the Day

Last night I realized that I listed the wrong albergue on the backpack transport service form.

I was able to correct it online but it was after the deadline for submissions.

So I called this morning and was able to confirm with a customer service rep that the change took place in the database, and our backpacks will be delivered to the right place. 🙂

Meaningful Moment / Notable Memories

We had a great night at the Albergue. Elena, our hospitalera, is a fascinating and very cordial host.

Fantastic community dinner of a lentil stew, pasta / vegetable salad and yogurt.

I met some interesting people.
I was chatting with a young french man from Switzerland who is actually from Brittany. He is out exploring the Camino and taking a look at his life.

Deb had some interesting conversations on her end with a man from France.
