On The Road

8:00 a.m. On the road

1:15 p.m. Energy recharge at Cafe Bar Evicieali El Chango in Cancienes. Just under 5 Mi to go. Hard to believe it's going to be close to a 15 mile day because it's not supposed to be. It's only supposed to be 13.
Had a nice nice lunch with Deb on the road today.

1:50 p.m. Back on the road. Entering the outer ring suburbs of Avilés. Even though it's still some distance to go, I can't wait to get to the hotel.

3:10 p.m. Now on the outskirts of Avilés. Obviously we've entered a very urbanized area, which is always kind of soul sucking. But the advantage is that the way the buildings are laid out, we're walking in the shade.

4:00 p.m. At the hotel Alda Palacio Valdez.

Random Thought of the Day

One more week of this Camino and it's over
Two nights in Avilés: Monday and Tuesday.
Booked a Casa Rural: Wednesday
Donativo albergue: Thursday
Then four more days of hiking
And it's all over but the return to Bilbao and then Rochester

Meaningful Moment / Notable Memories

So so cute

Green green hills and dales

This is great country to walk through

Off of pavement

Back on pavement

This bridge over a very deep valley and the rest spit below are on opposite sides of the road

Welcome to Avilés

14 Mi after starting the day. Just a little farther to the hotel.

Two nights here to enjoy this amazing Spanish City
